Valerie ColemanTrailblazing composer and flutist Valerie Coleman has emerged as one of the most important voices in the music world today.  Among her numerous recent awards and honors, she became the first living woman African-American composer to be performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra.  She kicks off the 2022 LCCMF with stories of the music, composers, and experiences that shape her work to this day.
