6:45 pm Pre-concert talk

7:30 pm CONCERT: The General

Debussy’s new impressionistic sound paved the way for future composers to re-imagine tonal harmony. Among those composers is Iranian-American composer Richard Danielpour as evidenced by this performance of a major new LCCMF co-commissioned work.  Every genre has its groundbreakers. In film, few would question the cutting edge work of the great Buster Keaton. The second half of the concert is a screening of Buster Keaton’s silent film The General, with music entirely improvised by the talented Israeli pianist Matan Porat.
