The events of the last two years have given us much to reflect on. Our society has expressed a renewed desire to celebrate people of all cultures, races, and genders. Our 2022 LCCMF, Illumination, places a spotlight on composers and ensembles that will continue to open doors for future generations of creativity.
The Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, the Catalyst Quartet, composer- flutist Valerie Coleman, composer-violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama, percussionist Ayano Kataoka, and clarinetist David Shifrin are just some of the performing artists who will be featured. It is truly worth celebrating the music-making that sits at the intersection of their diverse backgrounds.
While we managed to have a magical festival last August, we still had to leave out some of the elements that create the special LCCMF spirit. This summer, the Young Composers Seminar, Vermont artists gallery, pre-concert conversations, and the treasured personal interactions with musicians will all be back! Come join us in this celebratory return to the festival we all love!
