Young Composers Seminar
David Ludwig will lead a week long workshop for young composers selected from around the country and through the Vermont MIDI Project. Students will discuss, review and revise their own works. At the end of the week, ensembles from the festival will perform selected pieces composed by the students. It will be a special opportunity for the young composers to hear their music played by world-class performers.
You can meet the Young Composers in person and join them for the world premieres of their work on Saturday, August 29, at 3 P.M. at the Elley-Long Music Center at St. Michael's College.
David Ludwig's Listening Club: VYOA Edition
David Ludwig, the Festival’s Composer-in-Residence, will lead a class for student musicians that encourages them to take a fresh look at music, what it means, and how it is composed. Each session will cover a specific piece of music and participants will be able to attend a rehearsal of the piece after the class.
